ClearCorrect is a clear aligner system that straightens teeth with a series of thin, custom-made plastic trays. Like other clear aligners, it can be an alternative to fixed braces for suitable teenagers and adults who would prefer a less noticeable option.
What ClearCorrect can treat
ClearCorrect is most often used for mild to moderate crowding, gaps between teeth and some minor bite problems. It can also be used to correct teeth that have shifted after earlier orthodontic treatment. It may not suit severe overbites, underbites or differences in jaw size, and any decay or gum disease needs to be treated before tooth movement begins.
How treatment works
A digital model of the teeth is used to plan each stage of tooth movement in 3D. A series of aligners is then made, each slightly different from the one before. Each set is usually worn for about one to two weeks, for 20–22 hours a day, and moves the teeth a small distance towards the planned position. If the teeth do not move exactly as planned, additional aligners, called refinements, can be made part-way through treatment.
Treatment time and retainers
Simple cases may take around six months, while more complex cases can take two years or longer. Treatment time depends on how far the teeth need to move and how consistently the aligners are worn. Teeth tend to drift back after any orthodontic treatment, so retainers are used afterwards to keep them in their new position.

ClearCorrect treatment is planned at the practice in Blacktown from an iTero digital scan, with photographs and X-rays where needed. Progress is reviewed at regular check-ups. Complex orthodontic cases, and those that need an airway assessment, are referred to a specialist.

Health fund extras policies with orthodontic cover may contribute to clear aligner treatment. All major health funds are accepted, with HICAPS claiming on the spot.
