An overview of the dental care provided at White Pearl Dental Care. Each section links to a page with more detail.
Preventative dentistry
Regular check-ups and professional cleans help find decay, gum disease and other problems early. Fluoride treatments and fissure sealants help prevent problems in the first place.
Restorative dentistry and extractions
Fillings, root canal treatment, crowns, bridges and dentures repair or replace damaged and missing teeth. Teeth that cannot be saved may need to be removed.
Children’s dentistry
Check-ups, sealants, fluoride and fillings for children of any age, and advice on whether orthodontic treatment may be needed. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is bulk billed for eligible children aged 0–17.
Wisdom teeth
Assessment with an OPG or Cone Beam CT scan, and removal of straightforward wisdom teeth at the practice. Higher-risk cases are referred to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dental implants
Implants replace the roots of missing teeth and can support a crown or a bridge. Treatment is planned with a 3D Cone Beam CT scan, and like any surgical procedure it carries risks.
Clear aligners: Invisalign and ClearCorrect
Clear aligners straighten teeth with a series of removable, custom-made trays. They can be an alternative to braces for suitable teens and adults with crowding, gaps or some bite problems.
Teeth whitening
Professional whitening lightens natural tooth colour. Options include in-chair whitening, custom take-home trays and a dentist-recommended take-home kit that can be ordered online. It does not change the colour of fillings, crowns or bonding, and some people notice temporary sensitivity.
Gum disease treatment
Gum disease is assessed by measuring the gums and checking the supporting bone on X-rays. Treatment includes professional and deep cleaning below the gum line, with regular maintenance visits. Advanced or aggressive gum disease is referred to a periodontist.
Splints and snoring devices
Custom splints (night guards) protect the teeth from grinding and clenching. Snoring devices hold the lower jaw slightly forward during sleep. A device for sleep apnoea needs a sleep study or a recommendation from a sleep physician first.
Dental pain and broken teeth
Toothache, swelling, or a broken or knocked tooth should be checked by a dentist as soon as possible. Please call first thing on (02) 8814 9888.
